‘Holy Week at Home’ with the first processions

Easter at homeEaster at home

The City Council of Cartagena invites you to relive from home the most intense moments of the Easter processions that would have started tonight, Friday 3rd April, with the departure of the first penitential procession in Spain: that of the Christ of Socorro.

From the confinement forced by the coronavirus crisis, the municipal website, following the instructions of the side dictated by the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, will offer the retransmission of the songs of the Salve Cartagenera from the door of Santa María that will open the ten days of Easter in Cartagena for the imaginary departure of the parades and that it will serve so that citizens can sing it in unison from the balconies of their homes, in honor of the patron saint of the Virgin of Charity.

The retransmissions of these symbolic gestures can be followed through the municipal YouTube channel on Dolores Friday from 9:55 p.m. and Easter Sunday at 1.55pm.

It will also be possible to follow through the Onda Cartagena station on 87.5 FM, which has been offered to the City Council to facilitate the signal reaching the balconies of the houses so that citizens can sing the song at the same time.

These radio broadcasts will be made Good Friday, from 21:45; from Saturday of Passion to Saturday of Glory, every day from 20:45; and Easter Sunday, at 13:45 .

After the song of the salve, the City Council will publish on its website the retransmissions of the processions of other years, carried out by Telecartagena in collaboration with the consistory, helping to relive the atmosphere and splendor of the courtships from home.

The first one, that of this night of Cristo del Socorro, is already available in this information.
