Mazarrón Local Police officers handed out 1200€ worth of fines to the 3 Kings on January 6th after their parade with the floats through the town.
Each driver of the 3 King Floats, that were bringing presents to the children and part of the annual festive holiday parade were each given a 400€ fine for not having a license plate on the back of the float.
Allegedly the fines were given out as a response to the money owed by the town council to the Local Police officers for overtime hours.
According to a spokesperson who was also part of the parade, “The council owes the police officers around 150,000€ for extra hours they have worked during 2016/2015 and the Police Officers had this all planned. Never before have we been asked to produce all the documentation for the floats used in the parades, they noticed that we don’t have back plates and decided to fine us all to prove a point.”
